Vice President

Sierra Punchard

After serving last year as a Collaborative Stream Representative and gaining experience of inner TFNSA workings, I feel that my transition to this role would occur seamlessly. During my past term I advocated on the Curriculum committee for more inclusive education for all TFSON students. Outside of the TFSON, I attended the CNSA conference in Edmonton to represent the Trent Fleming School of Nursing. Additionally I was elected as the Indigenous Representative for the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario Nursing Student Executive Team. Furthermore, I attended CASN to pursue my goals of inclusive education for all students within the TFSON. This year I hope to plan a nursing gala, host NCLEX trivia nights and support the president with growing the nursing students association here at Trent University. I hope to show you the power of actions over words this year as your Vice President!

Oladele Dorcas Olamide

I am Oladele Dorcas Olamide, a second (2nd) year Nursing student. I am applying for the role of Vice President/ secretary. I am confident that I would be a great fit for the position(s) within the Trent Fleming Nursing Student Association for several reasons. Having served as the secretary last year, I possess firsthand experience and a thorough understanding of the association's responsibilities and dynamics. This role has honed my organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities, all of which are crucial for excelling in any position. During my tenure as secretary, I built strong relationships with fellow members and faculty, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment. I am proficient in managing schedules, coordinating events, and ensuring clear and timely communication. My commitment to the association is unwavering, and I am passionate about contributing to its ongoing success and growth. Moreover, my nursing background has instilled in me a strong sense of empathy, dedication, and a desire to positively impact the student community. I am driven by a genuine interest in advocating for my peers, addressing their concerns, and enhancing their academic and extracurricular experiences. In addition to my previous role, I bring a proactive approach and innovative ideas to the table. I believe that my combination of experience, skills, and enthusiasm makes me a valuable asset to the Trent Fleming Nursing Student Association( TFNSA). I am eager to continue contributing to our shared goals and supporting my fellow nursing students in their academic and professional journeys.

I am excited for the possibility to partake in either the role of Social Media Manager or the Lower Collaborative Stream Representative as I believe I can be an asset to the team. With my previous experience as student council Vice President, I collaborated with the executive team to plan and execute various activities aimed to enhance student life. This allowed me to manage fundraisers, organize events and create engaging social media posts. Furthermore, being a Student Senate Trustee taught me how to represent a population effectively. Additionally my position on the Yearbook Committee in High School provided me with the knowledge and experience to work with a variety of online platforms such as canva and Microsoft Publisher. This experience allowed me to ensure everyone was involved and felt represented in our class yearbook as well as improved my creative skills! Moreover, as a small business owner, I have my own experience with marketing strategies, ensuring I create posts that are engaging on a variety of platforms such as Instagram and Facebook. Using multiple platforms can help increase student engagement and collaboration with peers and other community groups. I hope that I have the opportunity to contribute to the nursing community, foster collaboration, and build meaningful relationships. I look forward to the possibility of bringing my skills and enthusiasm to your team. Thank you for considering my application.

Why should you choose me to be your Compressed Stream Representative? As a fellow student, I understand the highs and lows of university life. It’s not always perfect, but whenever we achieve something, it deserves to be celebrated, and in tough times, we need to support one another. With that being said, that’s what I am here to do. My goal is to ensure that we, as students, have the most fulfilling academic journey and social experience as possible. I will bring enthusiasm, positivity, organization, and resourcefulness to this role. As a student coming from a previous undergraduate degree, I understand that many students in this stream are coming from a different background, and each face unique challenges. However, our diverse backgrounds can be a source of strength and a way for us to learn from and support each other. In this role, I’d like to build a bridge of connection among students, creating a space where everyone’s opinions are valued and heard. I am always ready to tackle new challenges with calmness amidst chaos, and I’ll be there to listen and advocate for students. You can count on me to be reliable, trustworthy and dedicated to keeping you involved.
